We are seeking a Director/Sr. Director, Business Operations & Strategy to lead strategy and business operations for BioLabs’ current and future Massachusetts site locations.Through a rapidly growing network of global locations (currently11in the US and 2 in Europe), our collaborative lab space model is uniquely designed for scientific entrepreneurs to test, develop, grow, and commercialize their game-changing ideas. Each location supports entrepreneurial scientists with premium, fully equipped, and supported laboratoryand office spaces, alongside unparalleled access to capital and industry.   


Reporting to the Vice President, Business Operations & Strategy, the Director/Sr. Director, Business Operations & Strategy, BioLabs Massachusetts is responsible for managing the strategic & financial growth of BioLabs’ growing portfolio of Massachusetts site locations. This includes (1) managing the sites’ business operations, processes, and databases, (2) developing new partnerships and fostering existing partnerships with key stakeholders, including BioLabs’ strategic partners and sponsors, as well as key players in the regional biotech ecosystem, and (3) ensuring an optimal customer experience for BioLabs’ resident life science companies. You will work closely with BioLabs’ Global Business Operations & Strategy management team to achieve the company’s long-term strategic, financial, and growth objectives.



  • Work closely with BioLabs’ Operations leadership team and BioLabs Massachusetts sites’ strategic partners to formulate and execute on strategic goals; report on progress toward meeting milestones/targets to BioLabs’ executive team and strategic partners
  • Develop operational budgets for BioLabs’ current and future Massachusetts site locations; effectively forecast and manage within targets
  • Track and manage the financial growth of BioLabs’ Massachusetts current and future site locations (i.e. revenue generation, occupancy rates, capital efficiencies)
  • Spearhead BioLabs’ regional marketing & advertising efforts
  • Grow BioLabs’ brand awareness through thought leadership & participation in relevant local and national conferences, tradeshows, meetings, webinars/panels
  • Make and build on connections with relevant local stakeholders, including universities, tech transfer offices, economic development corporations, venture capital firms, and real estate groups
  • Perform primary and secondary market research and competitive landscape analysis to inform pricing models, new offerings, solutions to evolving customer needs, etc.
  • Manage team of administrative operations, client relations, events, and communications personnel
  • Manage relationships with BioLabs’ resident life science startup companies; promote and support their growth
  • Build and expand relationships with BioLabs’ strategic partners and sponsors, including pharma, universities, and technical vendors
  • With support of your team, develop a strategic programming/events calendar for BioLabs’ Massachusetts resident community by forging strong partnerships with a network of world-class academics, industry experts, and entrepreneurs passionate about advising our resident entrepreneurs on their path to success


  •  A Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree (MBA and/or MS or PhD in life sciences or related field) is preferred
  • At least 5 years’ leadership experience in operations, business development, strategic partnerships, or alliance management in a commercial environment, preferably in the biotech and/or life sciences space, require.
  • Exposure to early-stage company creation, venture investment, finance and/or related activities required
  • Experience with program budgeting/forecasting and fiscal management required
  • Strong connections across the Boston-Cambridge biotech ecosystem (academics/universities, venture community, startup companies, economic development groups, real estate, etc.) a plus
  • Persuasive and passionate communicator with exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and results driven
  • Strong interpersonal skills, an effective listener, and proactive relationship builder
  • Exceptional people leader with a track record of selecting and nurturing strong performers
  • Ability to travel to BioLabs’ Massachusetts site locations (Boston, Cambridge, North Cambridge, Watertown) and other Biolabs' sites as needed
